A new wave of European-native legal AI companies — including Legora (Sweden), Bayshore (Germany), Lexroom.ai (Italy), and Omnilex (Switzerland) — are gaining traction across EU markets, targeting the document review, regulatory research, and drafting workflows that dominate SME law firm workloads.

Chatbot disclosure rules under the EU AI Act became binding on July 10, 2026. The bigger milestone arrives on August 2, when the European Commission gains the power to fine general-purpose AI providers under Article 50 transparency obligations, breaches can cost up to €15M or 3% of global turnover.
